Meet Our Staff

Tim moved to Sequim when he was 10 years old. A few years later he met his future wife, Branette, at the bus stop in eighth grade. The rest, as they say, is history.

After High School, Tim & Branette both attended Prairie Bible College, where they each earned a Bachelors Degree in Religious Education. They married in 1984.

After a brief time back in Sequim, they moved to Southern California where Tim attended Talbot School of Theology at Biola University.

While in Graduate School, Tim served as a Youth Pastor and worked part-time for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, in their Emergency Operations Bureau. Tim would later serve for 10 years as a Chaplain, with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.

In 1988, having completed his Masters in Divinity, Tim received a call to serve as an Associate Pastor at Sierra Bible Church in Sonora, California. He and Branette served there for eight years. During that time Tim also wrote curriculum for David C. Cook Publishing.

A significant part of Tim's story involves a crisis of faith. It was that crisis which led him out of pastoring for a time, as he felt the need to separate his search from his paycheck. If you’d like to know more about his story go to www.thefaithpuzzle.org

In 1996 Tim & Branette moved back to the Dungeness Valley where they became active members of Dungeness Community Church in Sequim. It was during this time that Tim pursued some entrepreneurial interests, inventing a small tool (The MixMizer ™) and founding NorthWest Supply, Inc., a company that specializes in the liquidation of medical & scientific assets.

After 19 years in the business world, Dungeness Community Church asked if Tim would consider serving as Lead Pastor. Tim sensed God's timing and leading for him to re-enter full-time ministry. Tim accepted the call and joined the staff on November 1, 2015.

Tim says, "This is an adventure of grace that only God could have orchestrated. We are just excited and grateful that He has invited us along for the ride."

Tim & Branette are proud parents of four grown children and seven grandchildren (for now).

Lance was born and raised in Tyler, TX. His early years were spent bailing hay in the brutal Texas heat and playing basketball at Tyler High School where he graduated in 1992.

He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Tyler, and earned a Master's Degree in Leadership and Discipleship from Carroll Theological Seminary in Denton, TX.

In addition to his studies at Carroll, Lance completed additional training at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Oxford University. He is currently completing a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Carroll Theological Seminary.

Lance met his wife, Becky, in 1994 in Canton, TX. They were married on April 8, 1995 and have been blessed with three children. Their daughter Hannah is a nurse at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Their second daughter Grace is married to Kevin and is mom to their three beautiful grandchildren, Audrey, Ethan, and Liam. Their son Will is in 7th grade and loves video games, sarcasm, and hanging out with friends.

Lance and Becky love the outdoors and all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. If you see them out and about exploring the area, make sure to say hello!

Britt was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and experienced life in Ohio, Mississippi, and California growing up. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and attended graduate school in forestry at the Univ. of Washington where he met his future bride, Gayle, and became a follower of Jesus at the age of 24.  

Britt began ministry in 1982 as a volunteer connecting with Seattle street youth. From 1985-94 he was a teacher and coach at Port Angeles High School, along the way serving as a youth group leader and a Young Life leader. Full-time ministry began in 1994, including a thirteen-year span of teaching and school administration in Papua New Guinea.

In 2008 he returned to the U.S., becoming coordinator for the Families in Ministry department at a missionary training center in Missouri. In 2013 he transitioned into a leadership role with ZimZam Global, an organization equipping leaders around the world to plant churches beginning with children. 

Britt joined the leadership team of DCC in April, 2018. His desire is to champion the children of DCC, their families, and those in the church who serve them. He believes the local church is uniquely positioned to see children developed as future leaders who will one day impact communities around the world with the Gospel.   

In his spare time Britt enjoys reading, music, discipleship, history, creation, hiking, baseball, and swimming.  His heroes include Oswald and Biddy Chambers, Jim and Elizabeth Elliott, Amy Carmichael, C.S. Lewis, A.W. Tozer, Winston Churchill, and G.K. Chesterton. Britt and Gayle celebrated 36 years of marriage in 2018 and have two adult sons.

Josh grew up in Kirkland, WA, in a family that loves the Lord. From a young age, Josh was given opportunities to serve at his local church. This helped him develop a passion for serving others, which led to his studying Pastoral Ministry at Northwest University.

While attending Northwest University, Josh met his wife, Heidi. Heidi loves asking questions and learning people's stories. She is a nurse by trade.

Josh got an opportunity to return to the church he grew up in to serve with middle school students for four years. While investing in the students and leadership there, he gained a deeper understanding of his own giftings. At that time, Josh was studying for a graduate degree through Western Seminary, eventually leaving his role at the church to focus full-time on his Master of Arts in Bible and Theology.

Josh is passionate about discipleship, and helping others to pass on what they learn, often seeking creative ways to help children and students build a lasting faith.

Josh and Heidi have a dog named Nigel, whom they love hanging out with. They love hiking, camping, backpacking, and hosting people for dinner. Josh also enjoys a round of disc golf, board games, and getting excited about local sports teams and Star Wars.

Shane was born and raised in the Great Northwest. He grew up on a small farm near the foothills of Mt. Rainier, where his family raised sheep, and Whippets which they lure coursed and showed on the weekends. They also had an assortment of horses, cows and chickens along with the occasional llama.

Shane studied communication at Washington State University. In his time there he worked for the WSU Athletic Department, Fox Sports Northwest and the local PBS station. After college he took a gap year of-sorts and wrote for a small town paper in Central Oregon. He then moved to Los Angeles where he edited documentary content for studios like Universal Studios, MGM and Focus Features. After some time in Los Angeles, Shane chose to move back the Northwest where he pursued a life in closer relationship with God.

In 2008 he met his wife Angela at a post church get together, and they’ve been together ever since. They were married in 2010 and were blessed with a son in 2012.

Over the years Shane wrote and recorded a number of albums which were released independently. His music has been featured on benefit albums, and a recorded performance of his was selected to be a part of the 2007 CMT Music City Madness competition.

Shane and his family are excited to be living on the peninsula, getting to know folks in the area and being a part of the ministry at Dungeness Community Church.

Born and raised in Washington, Sara Jane grew up in Monroe over in Snohomish County. She married her husband Jeffrey in 1998. They have two adultish children. Their son, Joseph, is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and their daughter, Abi, is pursuing higher education at WSU this fall. Sara Jane and Jeffrey spent fourteen years in Eastern Washington, before moving to Sequim for Jeffrey’s job in 2014.

Sara Jane has long been involved in the ministry of the church. As a young adult, she served as a youth leader, helped lead worship with her mom and led a girls’ group at her church. After moving to Eastern Washington, she and Jeff continued to serve as youth leaders and Sara Jane took on a primary role in leading worship at her church. As saints have poured themselves into her and discipled her on her faith journey, she has endeavored to do the same for others.

When not on stage, you can find Sara Jane impacting the lives of students in the Sequim School District where she teaches math and a few other subjects. If you have the chance to try something she’s cooked, you should. She knows her way around a kitchen after growing up in her parent’s restaurants and she loves to feed people. In her rare random moments of free time, Sara Jane enjoys road trips with Jeffrey, reading, creating in many different mediums, and taking long walks by the Dungeness River with her dog Gus.

Branette worked for Northrop Advanced Systems Division from 1985-1989 while Tim was attending Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. She and Tim also led a high school youth group at a church in Whittier, CA. From 1989 to 1996 she and Tim lived in Sonora, CA where Tim served as an Associate Pastor at Sierra Bible Church. While in Sonora, Branette was involved in music, women’s and children’s ministry.

Branette enjoys piano, tennis, pickleball, serving on various ministry teams, and praying with and staying connected to friends. She started a county-wide prayer ministry in 2012 to encourage prayer across the North Olympic Peninsula. She meets quarterly with area prayer coordinators to promote unity and prayer among the churches.

Tim and Branette enjoy spending time with their four grown children and five grandchildren when they have the opportunity, which takes them to North Carolina, British Columbia, and Oregon.

Through connections with local ministries, she began ministry at a young age, serving on a worship team, which traveled to youth camps for the American Indian Fellowship, all over the Olympic Peninsula.

In 2008 Janessa traveled to Malawi, Africa as part of a team of 17 with Children of the Nations.

In 2010 Janessa went to Discipleship Training School with YWAM Boston, where her focus was “Creative Arts in Worship”. She was blessed with the opportunity to lead worship on 8 tours across the nation, write and record an album, do street ministry in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales; and village ministry in El Salvador. YWAM, allowed Janessa the opportunity to see the beauty of discipleship; both discipling and being discipled as well as the vitality of intentional relationship with Jesus. After her 7 years with YWAM Janessa moved back to Sequim, to serve the local Church.

Janessa and her husband, Chris, currently serve the local Church with a passion for worship, creativity, and unity within the Body.

While attending Simpson University, she also participated in choir, basketball, and several mission trips overseas. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Angela worked in special education, retail, and banking. She continued her love for basketball by coaching high school girls.

Angela married Shane in 2010 and they were blessed with a son in 2012. The following year, she became the Program Director for the same Christian retreat and conference center where she had worked as a summer camp counselor in her youth.

After spending much of her life in the city, Angela cherishes the beauty and pace of life on the Olympic Peninsula. Along with homeschooling her son, she enjoys gardening, writing, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Jennie has been the bookkeeper at Dungeness Community Church for 10 years and teaches the grade 5/6 Sunday School class. She has been involved in ministry since she was in college. She has taught most grades in Sunday School but really loves the middle elementary kids. “They ask such great questions,” she says. “Just beginning to explore faith on their own, apart from their parents’ faith.” And they are so funny.

Jennie met her husband, Jeff, in Bible School. They have been married over 30 years. They have 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren. One of Jennie’s favorite things is to have a long chat over a good cup of coffee.

After a short leave for training, Terry continued teaching and also served six years in an armored National Guard unit in Port Angeles.  He retired from Sequim School District in 2004 after thirty-two years of teaching. He was a Girl Scout brownie leader for one year and a Boy Scout den leader for three years.  He has continued to work with youth or to teach Sunday school for the last fifteen years.

In 1987 he married Lorraine, who led him to the Lord while attending DCC.  They have three adult children and three grandchildren. Terry started working at DCC in 2002 doing janitorial, grounds, and van maintenance.  He enjoys working with the staff and members of the congregation.
