What Does The Community Engagement Team Do?

The mission of the Community Engagement Team (CET) is to encourage our congregation to reach out to our community with the love and message of Jesus Christ. We do this by providing outreach training for the DCC family. We explore the local area for outreach opportunities by continually exegeting the Sequim community. We then inform the elders and pastoral staff to see if these opportunities are a good fit for DCC in a given season. An ongoing goal of the Community Engagement Team is to build relationships of trust and goodwill with community leaders.

CET Has A Local Focus

While the Global Outreach Committee manages the broad reach of DCC across the globe, The Community Engagement Team promotes, oversees and shepherds the work the affects our local community in Clallam County and the Northern Olympic Peninsula.  Here is a list of some groups we are curently working with:

Beautiful Day – A group of Christian churches partnering together with community organizations, schools, businesses and individuals to impact our city with generosity. Our desire is to empower those we relate to in our church community, and already work alongside with, in local organizations, businesses and schools to get out and make big difference in our city at least one weekend a year each April. We also will actively encourage Beautiful Day volunteers to continue serving their communities throughout the year.

Project Angel Tree - Angel Tree® creates pathways for moms and dads in prison to strengthen their relationships with their children and families, starting with a Christmas gift and leading to hope year-round.

Care Cabin - A monthly ministry of DCC providing essential paper supplies and counseling to low income families.

Child Evangelism Fellowship - A Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. CEF has many different ministries for children, but the primary ones are the Good News Club and the 5-Day Club.

The Gideons - A body of believers dedicated to making the Word of God available to everyone and, together with the local church, reaching souls for Christ.

Obria Medical Clinics PNW - Formerly My Choices, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which provides help to people facing an unplanned pregnancy. Through donations of time, material goods, and finances, they are able to ensure the services they provide are completely free of charge.

InFaith Ministries - InFaith enables called and committed followers of Christ to serve with purpose and passion within our nation's borders.
