On week 2 of our Series "Unexpected: When God Changess Our Plans," Pastor Tim asked DCC Elder George Crabb to share how we can see Jesus in the Life of Joseph. Watch and read George's insights into how the life of Joseph shows us a picture of Jesus.
Why did God do This?
Because God purposefully wanted us to see His plan through the life of Joseph who was a portrait of the greater than Joseph, God the Son, Jesus.
The Love & Respect Series is starting at 9am on February 6th in the Chapel at Dungeness Community Church in Sequim. Our final totals have come in for DCC's Advent Conspiracy Initiative in 2021.
Our five local community groups (who are featured farther down in this article) received a total of $25,000. Living Water International received $50,000, which will go toward at least three known wells. In additon, a donor in Texas asked Living Water International to match their own giving with a church and DCC was selected. So an addiional so $40,000 will go toward building wells. So that's $75,000 plus $40,000 which equals a total of $115,000 for Advent Conspiracy this year. Isn't that amazing!
Psalm 115:1 says "Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!"
Thank you to each one of you that were participants. We ask God to go ahead and mobilize these acts of faithfulnees for His glory. Amen
The following is a list of our global and local community partners for Advent Conspiracy 2021.
Living Water International & Dungeness Community Church
Living Water International & Dungeness Commnity Church have teamed up to help the people of Parcelamiento El Socorro in Guatemala. The following is a report provided by Living Water International.

About The Community
The 350 residents of Parcelamiento El Socorro suffered from the water crisis every day. They relied upon hand-dug wells and the local river for all of their needs. Because most of the men in the community worked during the day, the women and children were the ones primarily responsible for collecting the households' water and using it for chores. The fact that they were constantly worried about the amount of water available made their chores all the more burdensome. The water levels in both the wells and the river dwindled. Sometimes there was not enough.
The community members conserved as much water as they could for drinking and cooking. Sometimes, this meant foregoing hygiene and other household uses. Still, even after rationing their water strictly, they were often overcome with thirst. The thirst was not the residents' only concern, however. Because the water in the springs and river were exposed to the elements, it was full of surface contagions. After drinking or using the water, community members often suffered from water-related illnesses. The water also contained pesticides that had insidious, long- term effects on the community members' bodies. The only way to avoid these maladies was to avoid the water that was essential to life. It was a tragic dilemma. The community members knew that something needed to change.
As we move into Fall there are several changes happening within our staff. I sat down with everyone a few days ago to discuss and want to share that conversation with you. I hope you’ll take 15 minutes to hear what is going on.
In July of 2021, David Piper travelled to Guatemala to help distribute wheelchairs with DCC Global Partner, Bethel Ministries International. David sat down for an interview with Britt Hemphill, who is the Family Ministries Pastor for DCC as well as the chair for DCC's Global Outreach Committee. Watch that video here, along with excerpts from David's personal blog about the trip.

Honoring The Legacy & Testimony of Ted Sires
"Do you have any role models? Men or women who have had a significant impact on your life because of the way they've lived? Ted Sires is one of those men for me. Today I'm the pastor of Dungeness Community Church, but this church is here because Ted Sires and his wife Sandy, and a few other couples, over 40 years ag, decided that they wanted to start a church. But, Ted didn't just want to start a church. Ted wanted to follow Jesus. And he followed jesus well. And when Ted passed away at almost age 90 he left behind a rich legacy in his own family, his children, his grandchildren, and also in the life of this Church and this community. It was an unusual memorial service because Ted actually preached his own sermon. He had recorded it ahead of time, and it is a powerful testimony of his faith in God, and of God's faithfulness in Ted's life. We'd like to share that message with you now. Here's Ted." - Pastor Tim
As a part of Advent Conspiracy in late 2020, the Community Engagement Team at Dungeness Community Church was blessed to support Clallam Mosaic, a local non-profit that benefits individuals with special needs in our community. The following article, explains the history and the heart of Clallam Mosaic, from their humble roots in 1998 to their work in 2020 to help their community in the midst of a pandemic.

Clallam Mosaic – 22 Years of Service
In 1998, four families came together in a living room wondering what would happen to their child when he/she graduated from high school. All of these parents had one thing in common; their child was a student with special needs. As they looked around the community at adults with special needs, they saw a bleak future. Their children seemed destined to sit at home with no activities to engage in other than watching TV. They were worried that their children would lose all of the hard-fought learning they had acquired through their school years. The future was scary!
Summer Sunday Schedule and June Prayer Gathering
This Summer, starting June 6th, we're changing from two Sunday services to just one Sunday morning service at 10am.
Also we are having an all-church prayer night on Sunday June 13th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. This will include some worship music and be a great opportunity for us to gather together as a congregation and pray.

Join Us at The Beach!
Spring is here and the warm sun of summer is right around the corner. Just last Saturday I was surfing out at Crescent beach, and it was almost 75 degrees as the sun was sparkling on the turquoise, glassy, clear and cold water. The waves measured about chest high, and the swell was pumping with left and right-hand peelers going all the way to the beach.
Family Friendly Atmosphere at Crescent Beach
The PNW Christian Surfers are getting excited about what God has in store this Summer. Bruce, Blake and the rest of the ministry have been planning some special events for this summer. You may be able to meet us out at Crescent Beach in our RV Park camp site, for a day of surfing, great live music, sharing, and some great food and fellowship. We are also offering surfing classes for individuals and groups. Crescent beach is awesomely beautiful with views of the snow-capped mountains, a white sand beach, and sometimes seals and whales playing right off the surf. Crescent Beach and RV Park has great facilities with real restrooms, showers and Is family friendly.

Mothers Day Project for Obria Pregancy Resource Center - 2021
Mother's Day is just around the corner, on May 9th. As a staff we were discussing what to do this Mother's Day, as a congregation. Sometimes we do things specifically to recognize moms but not everybody is a mom, so we thought we would come up with a way that all of us could honor our moms, and bless some other moms, along with some important women in our lives.
We are taking a special offering this Mother's Day season as a tribute to honor motherhood. We're going to use that as a gift to Obria Pregnancy Medical Resource Center. Obria is right here in Sequim and they help moms, many who are going through a difficult time in their pregnancy.
So, if you donate to help with Obria, we're going to give you a flower and you can present that flower to a special lady of your choice. So, be planning ahead for mother's day and a special offering. For those of you who are joining us online and want to participate in this CLICK THIS LINK.
Recently a team of 9 people from Dungeness Community Church -- equipped with chainsaws, gardening tools and cleaning supplies -- visited Shohrat and Maya of Gospel Wave Media near Gig Harbor for a day of clean up and relationship building. We cut down a dead tree, hauled away the wood, cleaned out flower beds, scrubbed windows and then sat down to a traditional lunch of delicious grilled meats, fresh salads, yogurts and lentil soup. Everyone had a good time, including the children and the dogs!
Pastor Britt Hemphill interviews Mark & Susan Pfeiffer from REACH | TEACH | LOVE International. The Pfeiffers will be joining us in October to speak at DCC. The Global Outreach Committee at Dungeness Community Church is dedicated to reaching beyond Sequim and Clallam County to reach the world with the Love of Christ. In the midst of all that occured in 2020, Dungeness Community Church's Youth Director Darren Sweeney flew to California to help his friend Rob DeCou compete what may very well be the toughest triathalon in the world, the Uberman. What's interesting about Darren teaming up with Rob down to why Rob chose to run the race in the first place. In this article Rob DeCou describes how he and Darren first met, how that changed his life, and how Darren's future work as missionary/global work for Dungeness Community Church led to Rob competing in what is known as "the worlds hardest endurance race."
On March 18 2021, the Sequim Gazette published an article on Rosalie DiMaggio and her team at Dungeness Community Church. Their efforts are providing wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility equipment to families in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. We are thankful for the opportunity we've had to collaborate with Bethel Ministries International and Mission Mobility in this way!
An Active Community Response
Amazingly, within a day of this article being published, a local gentleman called from out of the blue to offer a wheelchair he had recently acquired. He had no use for it, but saw the opportunity to salvage it -- in hopes an opportunity would show itself -- and it did! Terry Sage, our custodian, got to quick work cleaning the wheelchair.
The following Monday, the Penninsula Daily News published the same article. We were flooded with phone calls, pick up requests, and drop offs of equipment!
